    The administrative area of the web site is called the backend.
    A container is a page in the TYPO3 CMS under which mainly data records are stored that cannot be displayed directly. These usually require a plugin to be displayed.

    The File Abstraction Layer (FAL) is TYPO3’s central media management system. It provides unified access to files across storages, supports metadata and allows media to be reused in different contexts.

    A Fluid Template is TYPO3’s standard templating technology. Based on HTML and ViewHelpers, it separates layout from logic and enables reusable layouts, partials and structured frontend output.
    The frontend is the area of the website that the visitor sees.
    LTS is a TYPO3 version with long-term free maintenance. It receives bug fixes and security updates for three years, providing a stable foundation for professional websites.

    Page TSconfig is a TYPO3 configuration layer for controlling backend behavior on page level. It customizes editorial interfaces, defaults, available content elements and workflows within the page tree.

    A Plugin is a TYPO3 extension component that renders dynamic content in the frontend. Editors place it as a content element, for example for news lists, forms, quizzes, filters or search results.
    The TypoScript root template is the main template of a TYPO3-Site. This template usually contains the base configuration, and it might include further configurations.
    RTE is an abbreviation of Rich Text Editor. Rich text is text with formatting.
    The TYPO3 Scheduler manages one-time and recurring background tasks. Tasks are configured in the backend and executed via the TYPO3 CLI, for example imports, cleanup jobs, reports or newsletter dispatch.
    Site Handling is TYPO3’s configuration system for domains, languages and routing. It enables structured multi-site and multilingual setups through transparent site configuration.
    The Table Configuration Array (TCA) defines TYPO3 database tables and backend forms. It configures fields, labels, validation, relations and how editors can view and edit records.
    The TYPO3 Extension Repository (TER) is the central platform for publishing and discovering TYPO3 extensions. It helps the community provide, version and select suitable extensions for TYPO3 projects.
    TypoScript is TYPO3’s configuration language for controlling frontend structure and output. It defines templates, content rendering and central values such as paths or IDs without being a traditional programming language.
    The Typoscript Root Template is the root template of a TYPO3 page. This is usually the basic configuration and further configurations are integrated.
    Workspaces in TYPO3 provide a staging environment for editing, reviewing and approving content before publication. They support editorial workflows, previews, versioning and quality assurance.
